If you represent a local community group (orchestra, band, theatre group, etc.) that is planning a show or other event, I'd be pleased to consider covering your event as photographer. I have done so dozens of times, and I have chosen not to charge for my time in taking photographs and in processing those photographs for delivery to the group.
It's an opportunity for me to give back to my community, a source of more experience for me, and a great way to get to meet people.
