How many meetings will we have?

Usually at least three.
The first meeting is usually limited to “housekeeping” matters, including the review, signing and exchange of the agreement to mediate.

Subsequent meetings will deal with the substantive interests and positions of the parties, and efforts to find common ground that might lead to an agreement.

In many cases, a separate (final) mediation session is held, to sign and exchange any agreement arising from the mediation.

The actual number of mediation sessions will depend on the number and complexity of the issues the parties bring to mediation, the ability of the parties to communicate, and the involvement of other processes (court proceedings, for example) or other people (financial advisors or coaches, for example).
